So, boyfriend #1 dies in a tragic car accident and boyfriend #2 mysteriously vanishes without a trace. One would think I would get a clue and lay off the boyfriends at least until I graduated high school. To say I didn’t expect Brighton Sterling to come into my life and make things difficult is a stretch. What I didn’t expect was for him to lie to me about who he is and why he and his family moved to my small neck of the woods. I should stay away from him. Unfortunately, I have a habit of doing things I shouldn’t do.
Meliena and the Wolves are out for blood. They want to find Drake’s captors and destroy them. They seem to be under the impression all the blame can be placed on the Falcons…Brighton’s family specifically. Now I’m stuck in a losing battle. If I side with the Wolves, I am accusing Brighton of being a monster. If I side with Brighton, I betray Drake. Either way, I lose someone.
With Drake gone, communication between the heavens and the Guardians has stopped. Someone must find out who is really behind his disappearance and restore the order, and judging by the insanity surrounding me, I am the only person sane enough for the job…or maybe I am the crazy one.

After finishing The Loner, I quickly picked up the second installment, The Brother. Just like with the previous book, this was a good read! The story is extremely interesting and had a few little twists that I wasn't expecting.....at all.In The Loner, we found out that Star is the center of a well, lets just call it a prophecy. She must choose between three different very different guys. In The Loner, we get to meet the first contestant, Drake. Now, in The Brother we get to meet Brighton. This is an extremely interesting concept. Not only do we get to see the guys from Star's point of view, but we also get a few glimpses inside their own heads. I feel like this just connects the reader to what Star is feeling even more!
Oh, and in case you don't know, Star is feeling.....A LOT. She has really been through the ringer, and it's not done with her yet. She is going to have a really tough decision to make in the end. So far we have only seen the wolf and the falcon, but we still have the bear. Drake (the wolf) and Brighton (the falcon) both have their flaws. As of right now though, I am still waiting to find out more about the bear. He may just come along and blow them both out of the water!
I can't wait for the third installment, The Chief, to come out next month. I am eager to meet the next, and final, contestant (I know I have already said this, but I'm excited. Can you blame me?). This is just a really great quick-read series!!

While I still really like this story and want to know where everything is headed, I really didn't care much for B in the lifemate sense. Raeb seems interesting and how he keeps popping up...but my heart is still rooting for Drake!
I enjoyed the love story and friendship between Star and Drake and was looking forward to this book. But I was disappointed. Star was very immature acting and selfish. It was obvious who the falcons were, yet she acted like she did not know. Then she thought that since she grieved for a month or so for a "soul" relationship and that was enough and she should move on. The guy she is with, she knows he can manipulate her thoughts and feelings, but she doesn't care or analyze it. I just really did not like this book, and I really felt for Drake who had to feel alone and left behind. At this point, I do not even know why she is looking for him, instead of having someone else do it. It was just written in a whiney, spoiled brat viewpoint; my opinion only. I will read the next book, but if it is like this one, then I will be quitting the series.
I read the first and had to get this when I was finished I enjoyed the stories told in these tales look forward to the next one.
The second book opens with a new character, Brighton, who reminds me of Zach Morris with an accent. He adds so much depth and dimension to the story.
Wowsa, that took a while to get through. The story didn't really go too deep into the 'why' of things, and I found Star to be rather superficial, seriously, she didn't even try looking for Drake when he's 'gone'? She's told the exact attributes of the 'bad guy' and immediately thinks it's someone completely different! Very frustrating to read. As much as I like to see a series resolve, I don't think I'll be reading the next installment

Team Drake through and through no matter how great Brighton/Slade seems to be, even with the British accent.
I enjoyed how what you think is going on while reading its not what it seems to be, the deception, the lies, the manipulation all the mess...
arrrrrrggg poor Star!!!

I choose 5 stars for classics or books that leave me on a reading high--begging for more! Grace did it again,with the second book in her series! I'm left intoxicated with Shifter love. Star and Drake's story continues on in a heart-wrenching way...but with new characters thrown in. I don't know WHO to root for, as much as Star's heart knows where to go. New powers and secrets unfold....with an ending that leaves you in search of your next book fix. On to book 3 in the series!!!
